Twellium expands with high-speed PET packaging lines in Ghana

The challenge

Twellium Industrial Company, known for its popular brands like Verna Mineral Water and Rush Energy Drink, needed to meet growing demand in West Africa’s beverage market. Their goal was to expand production capabilities while maintaining efficiency, flexibility, and high-quality standards. The new facility, built from the ground up in Kumasi, required packaging lines that could handle diverse beverage types and various PET bottle sizes at high speeds to match the region's booming consumption.

The solution

Twellium partnered with Sidel to equip its Kumasi facility with two cutting-edge PET packaging lines. The facility includes Africa’s fastest PET water line, capable of producing 80,000 bottles per hour, powered by Sidel’s integrated Combi solution. This system combines blow moulding, filling, and capping processes into a single, compact unit, enhancing efficiency and space utilisation. Additionally, a high-speed line for carbonated soft drinks was installed, capable of producing 65,000 bottles per hour. To meet local regulations and ensure traceability, Sidel also implemented an EvoDECO Roll-Fed labeller with integrated QR code application on the bottle caps.

The outcome

Twellium’s Kumasi facility is now a leader in high-speed beverage production in West Africa, significantly increasing production capacity to meet market demand. The advanced packaging lines have improved flexibility, allowing the production of various beverages in different bottle sizes while maintaining top-notch hygiene standards. This expansion has also created new jobs in the region and reinforced Twellium’s position as a leading beverage manufacturer in Ghana.

"Sidel's complete PET packaging lines for Twellium ensure that beverage production volume meets affordability, allowing us to keep up with the constant increase in demand. This partnership not only drives efficiency but also creates more regional job opportunities"
