PET is used in the packaging of a wide range of products and is widely adopted by customers in the beverage and home and personal care (HPC) markets.

In terms of HPC, PET is forecast to grow by a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 3% from 2016 to 2020 worldwide. Growth is also forecast in the use of PET in all beverage categories, with Liquid Dairy Products (LDP) anticipated to be the best performer with a CAGR of 5%. In the USA, the market share of PET is expected to see a CAGR of 2.2%, with bottled water leading the way with a CAGR of 2.9% over the same period.[1]

To make the most of these market opportunities, Sidel firmly believes that the best solution goes beyond the simple supply of the right equipment and starts at the very beginning of the whole PET bottling process, with technical know-how and packaging expertise that only come from a full solution partner. The knowledge and experience of Sidel in packaging design is backed by seven dedicated packaging and tooling centres worldwide, including a facility in Atlanta. Sidel's complete line solutions can include packaging development, flexible and reliable equipment, tailored line design, efficient line supply and ramp-up, smart data and Sidel Services™ to maintain and even improve line performance. In this way, Sidel is able to ensure that the customers' investments meet both their immediate objectives and those in the future, for optimal performance at the lowest TCO (total cost of ownership) possible.

"Sidel fully understands the growing and changing demands of the packaging industry and will be presenting its technologies and services at Pack Expo International 2016 to support and interact with its customers in the region and around the world," explained Stephane Hacpille, Vice President of Sales in Sidel North America. "We will show producers how to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the ever changing consumer tastes and the dynamic and shifting marketplace in which they do business."

Over the years, Sidel has undertaken many successful projects in the Americas, including the recent installation of a dedicated line for still water on behalf of Blue Waters Products. Before investing in Sidel's innovative technology, the Caribbean producer thoroughly evaluated the offerings of several equipment manufacturers, choosing Sidel again for its PET expertise and its innovative solutions. The complete new line at Blue Waters Products comprises a Sidel Matrix™ Combi, a Sidel Rollquattro Evolution labeller, shrink wrappers and a palletiser - and reaches speeds of 48,000 bph (bottles per hour). In Ohio, USA, Sidel supplied a producer of private-label bottled water with the two fastest and most technologically advanced bottled water production lines in the world.

Taking place in Chicago, Illinois from 6 - 9 November, Pack Expo International will feature more than 2,000 exhibitors and is expected to attract over 50,000 attendees. from more than 130 countries.
