Sidel is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team and contribute to innovative Tunnel Applications and Transversal Digitalization Projects. Reporting directly to the Tunnel Automation Manager in Verona, you’ll play a vital role in advancing automation solutions and driving digital transformation across our operations. Your Mission

  • Provide software development support throughout the entire process, from new development validation to equipment and test bench setup.
  • Manage the development of automation solutions, including PLC, Motion, and HMI systems, ensuring smooth progression until field testing and providing customer support when required.
  • Adhere to guidelines and rules for software development, ensuring all work aligns with industry standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical design and HMI design, ensuring seamless integration with automation systems.
  • Prepare all technical documentation related to software, ensuring accurate and comprehensive project records.
  • Perform thorough testing of all automation software, following the established methodology to ensure reliability and performance.

Your Profile

Education & Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Automation, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or a Secondary School Diploma with equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in automation engineering roles, ideally within an industrial or technological environment.
Language Requirements:
  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Fluency in French is considered an advantage.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • PLC Programming experience (Step7, TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000).
  • Proficient in working within HMI environments.
  • Strong ability to read and analyze electrical drawings.
  • Motion Systems Knowledge, including programming tools and foundational understanding of Mechatronic Principles (Experience with tools like SEW MoviTools is a plus).
  • Expertise in Safety, Networking, and Cybersecurity is a strong advantage.
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Rigorous, dynamic, and organized with an eye for detail.
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of working time.
  • Knowledge of Lean Methodology is a plus.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.
  • SAP knowledge is advantageous.
