Your Mission
Sidel is looking for a talented individual to join our Innovation Development Team. As a key member of the project team, you will play a vital role in scouting and evaluating new technologies and solutions, primarily focusing on fillers and labellers, with the opportunity to contribute to innovations across other equipment within the group.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define technical specifications for new developments, ensuring alignment with the latest technological advancements.
- Design mechatronic concepts that integrate knowledge from mechanics, electronics, computer science, automation, and image processing to create innovative solutions.
- Design and size complex functional subassemblies, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with automation and electrical experts to make informed decisions on technical choices for the optimal integration of solutions.
- Create, verify, and archive all technical data related to functional subassemblies, ensuring comprehensive documentation and traceability.
- Continuously optimize designs based on operational feedback and evolving needs.
- Analyze malfunctions and design failure modes to proactively mitigate risks and ensure system reliability.
- Participate in structured design analyses such as FMEA, Human Risks Analysis, Industrialization, and collaborate with Sourcing and Product Development Design teams.
- Document and consolidate technical investigations, contributing to future innovation activities and the overall know-how of the company.
- Engage in technical scouting activities within your area of expertise, keeping Sidel at the forefront of emerging technologies and solutions.
Your Profile
Education & Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or a High School Diploma from a Technical Institute with relevant experience.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
- Mastery of electrical systems, with extensive experience in handling technology powered by electricity.
- In-depth knowledge across multiple technical disciplines, including mechanics, electronics, computer science, automation, image processing, and regulation.
- Strong understanding of electrical and machinery standards, with the ability to navigate regulations specific to each country and industry.
- Expertise in modeling and automation software.
- Technical expertise in the food and beverage industry is a plus.
- Proficient in 3D CAD design (experience with SolidWorks is a plus).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing basics and how it applies to design and production.
Language Requirements:
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Italian and French are a plus.
