Looking for a senior international Tax Expert to join our team and support our company to shaping the future of a sustainable packaging industry. You will be working in a international dynamic business environment
Your Mission
International VAT Management:
- Supervise VAT declarations in the seven European countries where the company is registered (France, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Norway, and Germany).
- Ensure compliance with local, European, and international VAT regulations.
- Monitor VAT-related legislative developments and adjust internal procedures as needed.
Communication with Consultants and Tax Authorities:
- Act as the main contact with local tax consultants, providing required documentation, including export flow justifications and other necessary documents.
- Work with tax and customs authorities to resolve VAT and goods exchange issues.
- Manage tax audits and maintain effective communication with external stakeholders.
Management of Declarations and Commercial Flows:
- Prepare and submit Intrastat declarations and other mandatory filings.
- Manage intra-community flows, ensuring compliance with current regulations and optimizing logistical and tax processes.
- Reconcile accounting records with management tools to ensure accuracy in financial and tax data.
- Analyze commercial transactions to identify VAT-related risks and opportunities.
Cross-Department Coordination and Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with accounting, logistics, project management, and customs teams to optimize VAT-related processes and ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement internal procedures to improve fiscal and operational efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional projects with tax implications, offering expertise on new business or logistical initiatives.
- Regulatory Monitoring and Internal Training:
- Conduct ongoing research on new VAT regulations and directives at the European level.
- Train and advise internal teams on best practices in VAT and tax compliance.
- Provide analyses and reports to management on the tax implications of company activities.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and assess tax risks linked to the company's international operations.
- Establish internal controls to minimize risks of non-compliance and tax declaration errors.
- Collaborate with legal teams to manage contracts and agreements with tax implications.
Your Profile
- Advanced degree in Taxation, Tax Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in international VAT management, ideally within a European or international context.
- In-depth knowledge of local and European VAT regulations.
- Excellent communication and cross-departmental coordination skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
