AQua Vera

The challenge

AQua Vera, known for its premium Vera brand water, needed to expand production to meet the growing demand for bottled water, particularly in Italy. The company was looking for a solution that would allow them to increase capacity while ensuring the continued high quality of their product. The goal was to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact through better resource management, including optimising water, energy, and plastic consumption. The new packaging line needed to handle high-speed production and multiple bottle sizes while supporting AQua Vera’s sustainability efforts.

The solution

AQua Vera chose to continue its collaboration with Sidel by installing a complete turnkey PET packaging line at its Castrocielo facility. This new line features Sidel’s advanced Combi system, which integrates blow moulding, filling, and capping into a single, compact solution. This system reduces the footprint of the production line and improves overall efficiency. The line is capable of producing up to 20,000 bottles per hour in multiple formats, including 0.25L, 0.5L, and 1L bottles.

Sidel’s solution also supports AQua Vera’s sustainability goals. The new line includes an innovative stretch-wrapping bundling system that reduces plastic usage by 50% and electricity consumption by 90% compared to traditional shrink-wrapping methods. The Combi system is also designed to minimise water, energy, and chemical consumption, ensuring a more sustainable production process.

The outcome

The new packaging line will significantly increase AQua Vera’s production capacity, enabling the company to meet growing demand, particularly during peak seasons. The line’s efficiency improvements will allow for higher production volumes while maintaining the company’s commitment to sustainability. The use of advanced packaging solutions will also reduce the environmental footprint of the production process.
